Hyde Heath Community Pre-School
Ofsted report - Jan 2009
Charity pre-school
celebrates rave review from Ofsted Parents and teachers in Hyde Heath near
Amersham are celebrating
a rave review of their charity pre-school from Ofsted, the Government's schools
inspector.
Following the unscheduled inspection in January, Ofsted has reported that Hyde
Heath Pre-School and Daisy Chain Club is
"outstanding" for its partnership with parents, promoting the welfare of
children, keeping children safe and helping them to
enjoy and achieve. And the pre-school has been deemed "good" in every other
inspection category.
Dr Elaine Lawson, chairman of the charity, commented: "This brilliant report
demonstrates the great professionalism of Rachel Mistri, our pre-school
supervisor, Kirsty Harris, Daisy Chain supervisor, and our other dedicated staff
- Anne Chapman, Kim Bunday and Gayle Muriss."
The pre-school caters for up to 22 children aged from two to under five, from
the pretty village of Hyde Heath and surrounding villages and towns.
"Our success is also thanks to dedicated fund-raising by committed parents and
the generosity of many local businesses,"
continued Dr Lawson. "We are also delighted that Hyde Heath Infant School,
where we are based and whose staff make us so welcome, has also received a
glowing report from Ofsted under the excellent stewardship of headmistress Julie
Moulsdale. By working together, we are providing a safe, high quality start in
life for local children in the heart of their local community."

About Pre-School
We are a small village group, providing a
friendly, stimulating, family orientated atmosphere, where children aged
between three and five years are provided with pre-school education, in
a parent involving, community based setting.
The group is to be found within the village
infant school. Whilst being independently run and financed, we
share many links, thus providing trouble free transition into the
mainstream school. At the other end of the scale, we also operate
a thriving parent/toddler group, ensuring an easy and relaxed entry into
pre-school.
The group is proud of its high ratio of
adults to children, the staff possessing relevant Early Years
qualifications.
Apart from annual inspections by Social
Services, we are also inspected regularly by OFSTED to ensure quality
provision. Since this requirement has come into operation, we have
received two very favourable reports, the most recent being in January
2009.
