Golden Oldies Outing 2010

August 18th 2010 - to the Hamble River - Hampshire

Pictures kindly supplied by Mike Thompsom

Set off at 9.30, Wednesday 18th August, 36 seater coach with 31 people leaving from the bus shelter. Travelled down gently to the Hamble river in Hampshire (of Howard's Way fame) and had a very relaxing lunch in the Bugle on the edge of the Marina. Mainly Fish and Chips, although a smattering of Salmon and the odd beefburgers (mainly the "younger" ones!).

An exciting after lunch trek uphill to the coach testing one or two followed by a journey to Coldwaltham and tea, cakes and an introduction to the art collection and private gardens of the Bowerman family. The weather relented for a stroll round one of the outstanding Heather collections accompanied by the stunning views of the Arun valley. then home by 7.00pm.

A really enjoyable day for all, courtesy of Hyde Heath Cricket Club.
