Welcome to the first newsletter of 2006, and a Happy New Year to everyone. An especially warm welcome to all new parents whose children have joined the school. The involvement of parents is very important to our school and all our children benefit from the activities of the PA. There will be a coffee morning to welcome new parents and introduce you to the very friendly PA on Monday 23rd January, at Deb Golil's house, Homeleigh, on Weedon Hill.

Please make a note of the forthcoming dates and events and give your support. Any contribution is appreciated and joining in is a good way of feeling a part of the school. You are also invited to the next PA meeting at 8pm on Monday 27th February. The meeting will be at Fiona Baker's house at 14 Lappetts Lane in South Heath (tel. 01494 868307). If you are unable to come to the meeting, please have a chat with Julie or Justine if you feel you can help in any way.

The following are important dates and events to make a note of':

 New To You Uniform Sale

This will take place at drop off and pick up on Tuesday 7th, and Wednesday 8th February. Please leave donations in the box provided just inside the front door of the school.

 Quiz Night Saturday 4th March

This is an excellent night out and an important fundraiser for the school. Why not make up a table of 8 with some friends? Tickets will be available closer to the date and will cost £7.50. This will include a supper of cold meats, cheese, salad and puddings. Drinks will be available to purchase on the night.

Summer Dance with the Soul Agents, Saturday 20th May at 8pm

Book your babysitter for this very popular event and keep a look out for ticket sales closer to the time because they sell very quickly. This event is always a sell‑out, so buy your tickets early!

 Sausage sizzle Thursday 30th March

The PA will organise lunch for the children on this day so they will not need a packed lunch. There will be a charge of £1.50 per child, with proceeds going to the school PA.

 Box Tops for schools

The PA have registered with two box top schemes for the school. These are the Persil Arts & Craft and Nestle Free Box schemes. Boxes for each are located inside the school entrance. As we are a small school, it would be appreciated if you could also ask any friends or relatives to save their box tops.

Other events to look out for this year

Details of the sponsored walk, end of term disco and summer fun/sports day will be in the next newsletter.
